When the German luxury appliance brand Gaggenau turned 333 years old, it invited Disegno Works to devise a special project about the passage of time to celebrate the occasion. To capture the history of experimentation and technological innovation of the brand, Disegno Works responded with Food and Time, a special project that commissioned the food design studio Arabeschi di Latte to create a series of innovative recipes that encouraged a more reflective, restful approach towards cooking and dining. The resulting recipes were captured by the still-life photographer Michael Bodiam, and transformed into gifs that were hosted on a special microsite within disegnodaily.com. To further communicate Gaggenau’s brand to a design audience, a print advertorial was published in Disegno #12, in which a photographer visited the Gaggenau factory in Lipsheim, France, to document the industrial craft and heritage of the brand.
