In 2023, Swedish design studio Front was named the guest of honour at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. As part of this accolade, Front presented an exhibition of its work and portfolio to date, including an eclectic range of projects – from self initiated research ventures to commercial industrial design pieces. 

Front’s founders Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist wanted to capture the depth, breadth and playfulness of their work in the exhibition’s texts. As such, they commissioned Disegno Works to write and edit the caption texts and introductory panels. 

Through a series of interviews with the designers, Disegno’s editors delved into the stories, inspirations and processes behind each of the pieces in Front’s portfolio. Linking these together as whimsical but detailed anecdotes, the texts succinctly communicated the uniquely experimental approach of the studio. 

An advertorial – which highlighted the importance of Front to the Swedish design scene and the design industry more broadly – was also published on Disegno’s website, sharing their work with a broader audience than that which would attend the fair in-person.
